Adding a Lead by Hand
The three-step New Lead Intake wizard, the nine required fields, and the four things it does not ask you for.

Adding a lead by hand is a three-step wizard, not a single form. Two of the three steps are mandatory, and the second one asks for loan details — so have the property value, loan amount and credit score to hand before you start.
Opening the wizard
Use "+ New Lead" in the top bar, which works from anywhere in the app, or the "New Lead" button on the All Leads toolbar. Both open the same New Lead Intake panel on the right-hand side.
Step 1 — Identity
Four fields, all required: First Name, Last Name, Email and Phone. There is no "save partial" here; you cannot continue until all four are filled.
Step 2 — Deal
Five more required fields covering the loan itself:
- Loan Purpose — Purchase, Rate/Term Refinance, Cash-Out Refinance or HELOC.
- Property Type — Single Family, Condo, Townhouse, Multi-Family (2-4 Units) or Manufactured Home.
- Estimated Property Value.
- Loan Amount.
- FICO Score.
These are not optional. If you are taking a call and do not yet know the credit score, you will need an estimate to get past this step — so it is worth asking for one before you open the wizard.
Step 3 — Confirm
A read-only review of everything you entered. The button is "Create Lead & Open File" — it saves the lead and takes you straight into the lead record. "Back" returns you to the Deal step; "Cancel" discards the whole thing.
What the wizard does not ask for
Four things you might expect to set at intake are not part of it, and are handled elsewhere or not at all:
- Lead source — not offered. A manually created lead is recorded with a source of "website".
- Pipeline status — not offered. Every new lead starts at New Lead.
- Owner or assigned loan officer — not offered. A lead created this way has no owner until you assign one.
- Contact consent — not offered at any step.
Assigning an owner afterwards
Open the lead, then use "··· More" in the top right and choose "Reassign / Unassign". Do this promptly — an unowned lead has no one accountable for it, and some parts of the product behave differently when a lead has no owner.
What you see immediately after creating one
The lead record opens on the Deal Desk tab with the loan figures across the top, the pipeline arc set to Contact, and a Borrower Momentum score. The lead is given a starting trust score at creation.
